I read with dismay the article about Jim Thorsen, removal of signs from public property and calls for his removal.
Anyone who has ever had the occasion to meet with or deal with Thorsen can attest to his integrity and forthrightedness. He stays above politics — which is a lot to say in Malibu.
Thorsen has guided our city — with help from many good Malibu citizens — through the Lumber Yard project, Legacy Park and, perhaps most impressively, the acquisition of our own City Hall, with financing that cost less than previous rent.
This man deserves much gratitude from all of us. It is a shame to see petty politics impugn this truly dedicated public servant.
