Nick Muro learns about the chores children would be responsible for in the 1800s during an interactive lesson at the Stagecoach Inn Museum.

Two classes from Webster Elementary School visited the Stagecoach Inn Museum on a field trip that took place Oct. 8. While at the museum, students learned about California’s history and played with old-fashioned instruments, tops and barrel rings. Part of the interactive lesson included panning for gold and learning about the chores children did in the 1800s. Following those lessons, students had a lesson in a school house where they learned about stagecoaches and the work of a blacksmith.
