A small brushfire approximately a 1/2 acre in size was quickly extinguished Wednesday evening in eastern Malibu.
The fire reportedly sparked in heavy brush near the intersection of Rambla Pacifico Street and Hume Road just after 6 p.m., according to Twitter reports from the Los Angeles County Fire Department.
At least one helicopter was dispatched. Because of the quick response, there was no threat of the fire spreading, according to the City of Malibu. A cause of the fire is not yet known.
