Local nonprofit Safety Harbor Kids, which supports local orphans and homeless children in the areas of college, career and the arts, is conducting its Malibu Art Contest Series. The competition is open to all community members, and submissions will be accepted until Sept. 4. The winners will be announced at the Chili Cook-Off on Sept. 6 at 2 p.m.
The grand prize winner will receive a $500 art scholarship. Other prizes include a one year membership to the Los Angeles County Museum of Art, $100 in art supplies at Mittels Art Center, dinner in Malibu and a flower bowl from Topanga Art Tile.
