We are members of the Measure BB site committee at Malibu High School. We have been working hard to ensure that the Measure BB facility funds are spent appropriately and in a timely manner at our high school. It has been a long process and began five years ago as our school district worked to create a long range Facilities Master Plan for our community. Stakeholders from all segments of our community gave valuable input during those sessions to create a dynamic, forward-looking vision for our schools.
We are excited to finally see the outcome of all the hard work. Thanks must be passed around our community for its support of the ground breaking Measure BB that has allowed the Master Plan to begin to be implemented at Malibu High, a school recently recognized as a top 100 school in the country. A new library with attached administration offices, middle school science labs and classrooms, and sports facilities will only improve our strong programs. Intensive work and communication regarding traffic and parking have resulted in plans that will dramatically improve the traffic flow around our school.
Our staff has designed a facility that uses sustainable design that lessens impacts to the neighborhood and promotes green building standards. Overall, the planning process always welcomes input from community members. We feel it is our function as members of the BB committee to ensure that accurate information is disseminated to all neighbors and stakeholders who will surely benefit from having a community friendly public school in their neighborhood. We welcome your input and suggestions and rely on your valuable help. Quality schools have a positive impact on the community and Malibu High School is on its way to becoming the world class facility that Malibu needs and deserves.
