Foote Marti

Norman Foote Marti, a member of Lily’s Café Steering Committee, died at the Veterans Administration Hospital of heart failure on Aug. 6. He was 79.

Marti, who lived in Malibu for 45 years, was born on March 5, 1924 in Long Beach. He was a self-employed general contractor for 28 years who also served in the Navy. Previously he worked for Hughes Aircraft, Telecomputing and Librascope.

Marti is survived by his wife, Donna Marti; daughter, Melinda Hagenson of Eau Clair, Wis.; sisters Dorothy Ziilch of Redlands, Calif., Kathryn Green of Clairmont, Calif., and Charlotte Marti-Anderson of the Philippines; brother, Donald Marti of Pennsylvania; and three grandsons.

Services are private. Donations may be made in Marti’s name to the University of Southern California.
