Malibu-born extreme athlete Johnny Strange has died at the age of 23.
A well-known social activist and adventurer, Strange spoke in June of this year during an appearance at the Malibu Public Library Speaker Series. He was a graduate of Malibu High School and was well known and loved in the community.
Several sources within the city confirmed Strange’s death but more information is not yet available.Â
In 2009, Strange became the youngest person to summit the seven highest mountain peaks in the world, accomplishing the feat at the age of 17, before finishing his last year at MHS. He went on to work as a social activist and extreme athlete.
