A female passenger was airlifted to UCLA Hospital this morning from a car that went over the hillside from Malibu Canyon down into Winter Canyon, Lost Hills Sheriff’s confirmed.
Just before 6:30 Monday morning, a vehicle with three passengers went over the side of Malibu Canyon and landed in a parking lot, likely close to Our Lady of Malibu.
“[The vehicle] went down the hill to Winter Canyon and landed in a parking lot, and it damaged two poles in the parking lot only, and there was a female passenger that had a possible fracture to her leg and her back,” Sgt. Ruda of the Malibu/Lost Hills Sheriff’s Station said Monday morning.
“[The driver] said he was trying to avoid another car, I guess,” Ruda said. “The driver had minor injuries.”
Sheriff’s deputies and LA County Fire personnel responded to the 6:28 a.m. call. As of 8:10 Monday, the accident was cleared from the parking lot.
