The Los Angeles Homeless Services Authority (LAHSA) is looking for volunteers to join the 2017 Malibu Homeless Count team. The Homeless Malibu Count helps the LAHSA gain more insight on the amount of services and housing needed in the community.
The official count will take place on Thursday, Jan. 26, from 5-8 a.m. Volunteers will begin the day with a brief training overview at Our Lady of Malibu Church, 3625 Winter Canyon Road.
Participants must be at least 18 years old, and will work in groups of two to three. Each group will be assigned a census tract to poll those experiencing homelessness.Â
