Fifty Webster Elementary School students recently ventured north for a week-long trip to experience Yosemite National Park. Outgoing principal Phil Cott led the trip with help from two teachers and eight parent chaperones. The students learned from experienced instructors about different sciences, the history of Yosemite and life lessons, such as problem-solving and team-building skills. Particular highlights from the trip included snaking through dark, spider caves, swimming in Mirror Lake and hiking up the Mist Trail to Vernal Falls, where they were able to take in both Vernal and Nevada Falls. This was the 21st time Webster Elementary has taken fifth-graders to Yosemite for a week.
