Since I circulated the petition to get a traffic signal installed at PCH and Corral Canyon, it seems appropriate that I address Scott Palamar’s attempt to derail the signal in his efforts to keep Malibu rural. I live at the intersection. In the last ten years I have seen countless injuries, broadsides, and sadly, death. By contrast, Mr. Palamar lives up a rural mountain, passes through the intersection briefly and probably sees few of the accidents. It’s easy to deny there is a problem when you don’t see it. I, too, selfishly wish to keep Malibu rural, but my conscience would no longer allow me to watch the carnage and do nothing. Mr. Palamar, you may be willing to risk the lives of your neighbors and their children to satisfy your personal agenda, but I am not, and I will not rest until there is a signal installed at this intersection.
