Southern California Edison (SCE) will perform scheduled maintenance on electrical systems in various areas of Malibu, beginning Aug. 17-23, according to an alert from the city.
In order to perform the maintenance work, SCE crews must temporarily disable or interrupt electric services, allowing crews to make needed improvements.
On Thursday, Aug. 20, outage boundaries include Rambla Orienta, Calle del Barco, Rambla Pacifico Street and Las Flores Canyon Road. The office of The Malibu Times will be closed on Aug. 20, and reopen at 9 a.m. on Friday, Aug. 21.
Thursday’s outage is scheduled to begin at 9 a.m. and end at 7 p.m., but residents should be aware that the electrical systems may be turned off during the entire maintenance period and some conditions could postpone the planned power interruption.
