Where’s there’s a smoker. . .

This following line is from NBC News this week.

“Residents in the Palos Verdes Peninsula poured tiny streams from garden hoses on vegetation, as about 250 firefighters brought in fire engines to protect homes, and three helicopters dropped loads of water. The blaze, which started at Crenshaw Boulevard and Crest Road, has burned about 100 acres after being reported at about 4:20 p.m.”

What this demonstrates is that people throw their cigarettes out by the roadside. A careless smoker starts every brush fire by the freeway, and everyone around our area is vulnerable. Each day I see residents, gardeners and construction workers alike walking up the street or riding in their cars smoking. All it takes, Malibuites, is one of those careless smokers to burn down our neighborhoods and your house. Please, do your part. If you have a worker or a smoker on your property, tell them that there is no smoking outside. Save our homes, by doing your part.
