With hot temperatures and big events planned in town this weekend, Malibu looks to be a popular holiday weekend spot for Labor Day once again.
The weekend weather forecasts shows temperatures starting in the 80s, then dropping into the high 70s through next Tuesday. A big surge of humidity also also expected to hit the region for the next few days, the National Weather Service said, with nearby Ventura and Los Angeles county mountains under possible flash flood and storm warnings.
Friday marks the kick-off of the 32nd Annual Chili Cook-off and a new Andy Warhol Exhibit at the Malibu Lumber Yard, and beach crowds are sure to be descending upon Malibu as the temperature hits 85 degrees.
Saturday is set to be 80 degrees, according to National Weather Service, and 76 degrees is projected both Sunday and Monday.
Residents and visitors should also anticipate a DUI checkpoint at an undisclosed location on Friday night. For more on the checkpoint, click here.Â
