Panga boat drug smugglers face prison, deportation

Three Mexican men who attempted to smuggle 1,000 pounds of marijuana into the United States face prison and deportation, according to reports.

The three men were arrested by U.S. Customs and Border Protection agents January 15th as they were unloading bales of marijuana along Pacific Coast Highway near the Deer Creek area.

The Associated Press is reporting that Pedro Lopez-Rocha, 29, was sentenced six years in prison and will be deported to Mexico after serving his sentence. The two other men were sentenced to one year in prison and also face deportation, according to multiple reports.
