The City of Malibu Environmental Sustainability Department hosts its next household hazardous and electronic waste collection day on Saturday, Oct. 21, from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. All containers must be clearly labeled for identification purposes; the department asks residents to remain in their cars while the waste is unloaded.
Accepted materials include: paint (water-based only), used motor oil, anti-freeze, automotive and household batteries, compact fluorescent light bulbs (unbroken), and electronics. The maximum amount of paint and motor oil allowed is 15 gallons (125 pounds) per visit.
The collection will take place at Malibu City Hall (23825 Stuart Ranch Road), at the upper parking lot. Call 310.456.2489 for more information.Â
