The following crimes were reported between Dec. 12- Jan. 17:

Winter Break-in

12/12-1/11

A duffle bag containing a passport and social security card was stolen from a Pepperdine student’s dorm room while they were away on Winter Break.

1/11-1/17

A wall on Paseo Canyon Drive was vandalized with black spray paint and the words “Die Hard.”

Damaged Dollars

1/12-1/19

Surveillance video caught two men unsuccessfully trying to pry open a Chase Bank ATM at Cross Creek near Coffee Bean.

Vehicle Burglary

1/13

A vehicle’s passenger window was smashed on PCH and a backpack, laptop and wallet were stolen. The suspect then used the victim’s credit card to purchase gas at USA Gasoline on Heathercliff Road.

Attempted Entry

1/14-1/15

Residents were home when a suspect turned off their power and attempted to break into their Malibu Canyon Road home. The suspect hid in the backyard as the owners assessed the situation, and he then attempted to break in through a side gate but was unsuccessful.

Later that evening, video surveillance captured the same suspect breaking into a different home through the garage. The surveillance video was turned off by the suspect who then ransacked the house and attempted to steal a $3,000 LCD TV. The TV was left in the driveway. 

Bicycle Burglary

Two mountain bikes worth $10,000 were stolen from a garage on Morning View Drive between 4 and 6 p.m.
