I was dismayed to hear that yet another local Malibu small business cannot afford to stay in their present locale. We have lost so many non-corporate businesses in the last few years. As we lose these businesses, we lose something both tangible and intangible. Some of the businesses had been here for years and were owned by hard-working individuals or families. I feel bad for these owners, and I also feel bad for the Malibu community that is diminished by these losses.
