Two local girls competed in the Junior Lifeguards National Championships last Thursday in Huntington Beach. Dozens of teams from throughout the country competed. Representing the Los Angeles County Junior Lifeguards Squad in the 9-11 age group were Farah Stack, 11, and Elizabeth Boland, 10. Farah took fourth place in the rescue swim, third in the individual distance swim and second in the swim relay. Elizabeth took fourth place in the distance run and the beach flags.
