Northbound PCH lane closures due to maintenance

The resurfacing project on Malibu Canyon Road that has delayed motorists for more than 20 minutes traveling in each direction since November is expected to be completed by the end of next week.

Originally scheduled to be completed at the end of December, the project, which is funded by the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009, has been delayed due to the cold and rainy weather.

The repaving project started up again Thursday this week, said County Public Works Information officer Mike Kaspar.

“We’re doing our best to get it done as quickly as we can,” Kaspar said.

Motorists should expect delays 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., Monday through Friday.

One northbound lane of Pacific Coast Highway between Encinal Canyon and Bonsall Drive/Westward Beach Road, as well as between Kanan Dume and Latigo Canyon roads, is closed today for road maintenance work by Caltrans. The work is expected to continue through Jan. 13. Closures are between 7 a.m. and 3 p.m.
