Delving into past

Rick Wallace’s recollections of early Malibu continue to fascinate. Yes, I remember the Tonga Lei. It occupied roughly the southeast one-quarter of the present Malibu Beach Inn site. The rest was parking lot or vacant land. However, the Beau Rivage site was never a gas station. It was a restaurant called, if I remember correctly, the Coral Beach Cantina. The gas station was next door. The original office of that gas station, still there, is now a Malibu Vineyards wine-tasting shop.
