The City of Malibu is now accepting student intern applications, through Sep. 11, 2015.
The city has created a program for high school, undergraduate and graduate students to participate in Malibu’s local government and take a look at what goes on behind the scenes.
“The city benefits from the skills and fresh perspective a student intern can bring. Student interns are utilized in the various city departments (Administrative Services, City Clerk’s Office, Environmental Sustainability, Parks and Recreation, Planning, and Public Works) and have the opportunity to work on administrative assignments and special projects,” according to the City of Malibu website.
All applicants must be enrolled in high school or be working toward an undergraduate or graduate degree. The application process will close on Sep. 11 and interviews will shortly follow on the week of Sep. 21. Once selected, interns will start working the week of Sep. 28.
If there are any questions or concerns, the city encourages interested applicants to contact Lisa Pope, the City Clerk and Student Intern Supervisor, at lpope@malibucity.org or 1(310)-456-2489, ext. 228.
