Amo Etlin died in her sleep on Oct. 16 at the age of 92. She was born in Denver, Colo.
Her family moved to the Los Angeles area when she was a young child, where she lived most of her life. She was a graduate of UCLA.
In 1947, she married Jack Etlin. Together, they founded Etlin Realty Company, which was one of the largest residential real estate brokerage firms in the San Fernando Valley during the 1950s and 1960s. They had two sons, along with her grandchildren. She and Jack divorced in 1976. She remained active in the commercial real estate business until well into her 80s. She lived in Malibu for more than 30 years, where she raised her sons. In 2010, she moved to San Francisco to be closer to her son Craig and his family.
Amo was preceded in death by her parents and her sister Helen Fiul. She is survived by her sons Craig (Leslie Gordon) and Stuart (Joshua Siebuhr), her brother Robert Ledeen (Lydia Ledeen), her grandchildren Cody, Asher and Emily, and many nieces and nephews.
“She cherished the many deep and enduring friendships she had throughout her life,” a loved one said. “All who knew her will miss her sense of humor, warmth and joie de vivre.”
