Los Angeles County is offering a “Cash for Grass” workshop Saturday afternoon at Bluffs Park to help residents convert expansive green lawns to drought-resistant landscaping, with the added incentive of rebates up to $2 per square foot of grass removed.
The workshop runs from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday, May 16, at the Michael Landon Community Center at Bluffs Park, where L.A. Waterworks District 29 representatives will offer education for residents, including ways to “reduce their water usage by replacing grass lawns with water-wise landscaping, including such options as rock, permeable hardscape, drought tolerant plants, stepping stones and more,” according to a statement by the City of Malibu.
Those interested in attending the free workshop must RSVP to csotelo@dpw.lacounty.gov or call 626.300.3378.
