Relativity Media CEO and Malibu local Ryan Kavanaugh will be honored by the Anti-Defamation League with the Distinguished Entertainment Industry Award Oct. 11, a press release states. Kavanaugh will receive the award in recognition for his philanthropic efforts at the Entertainment Industry Awards Dinner at the Beverly Hilton Hotel in Beverly Hills. Kavanaugh contributes to causes to help inner-city youth, the press release states, as well as supporting Best Buddies and Jewish Big Brothers and Sisters, among other philanthropic pursuits.
“I am humbled to be recognized by this esteemed organization and to be in such great company as ADL’s previous honorees,” Kavanaugh stated. “The Anti-Defamation League is so important to furthering a greater world consciousness and respect among races, faiths, and cultures. On a personal level, ADL’s mission is particularly special to me as it honors my grandparents’ legacy and Jewish heritage.”
Kavanaugh is the CEO of Relativity Media, a film studio that has produced such films as “The Fighter,” “The Social Network” and “300,” among others.
