In honor of Martin Luther King Jr. Day, Pepperdine University Volunteer Center and Intercultural Affairs hosted Peace, Hope, and Justice week. Events included prayer services, the Peace, Hope and Justice Fair, and an art walk — to name a few. Volunteers were on hand Wednesday, Jan. 21, from End Malaria Now, Free Wheelchair Mission, One Heart Source and more, all to raise awareness about the issues of social justice and equity both nationally and abroad. Pepperdine Graduate student Alain Datcher, who came up with the idea for the justice fair, said, “We were able to reach hundreds of students, over a dozen community organizations from ACLU to UNICEF.”
Chelsea DeFoort and Michelle Doerr introduce people to Free Wheelchair Mission, “Transforming the gift of mobility to the impoverished disabled in developing countries.”
Jason “DJ Young Free” Beresford kept the party going during the Peace, Hope and Justice Fair at Pepperdine University.
Pattaraporn S. and Mari Aguila focus their energy on informing students about fighting for justice for others.
