How many of us know about the tremendous resource we have right here in the center of Malibu?
Let me explain: our housekeeper decided to take a holiday just when Joan and I were expecting three houses guests from Canada. What to do? Well, we just telephoned Oscar Mondragon at 310.317.4717, who supervises at the Malibu Labour Exchange, situated next to the Civic Center, law courts, and library.
“Oscar, you think you could find us a housekeeper who speaks English for next Tuesday at nine in the morning?” At nine sharp, we arrived at the Malibu Labour Exchange to find not one, but eight housekeepers, all of whom had five to 10 or more years of experience, and all of them spoke English to varying degrees and some had cars. We finally had to choose with a coin toss! We’ve kept her on and she is superb.
As we are often asked if we have contacts with housekeepers, I thought a letter to your paper would be a good idea.
