From left: Locals Judith Schley, Jane Takeyama, The Malibu Times proofreader Margo Neal and Anne Payne work on a Habitat for Humanity home.

As part of a Pepperdine University Crest Advisory Board service project, locals recently joined forces with Pepperdine students to put in the final landscaping on the Habitat for Humanity house called Pierre’s Place. The house was built with the support of a grant from the Wood-Claeyssens Foundation, named to honor the life of Pierre Claeyssens, former Pepperdine Seaver College board member and founder of the Wood-Claeyssens Foundation.

The landscaping materials were donated by Malibu business owner Clark Cowan, of James H. Cowan & Associates Inc. He is a Pepperdine alumnus and member of the Crest Advisory Board.
