I’m turning to my local paper to apologize to Malibu and the community of Pt. Dume for the comments recently printed in the “Tequila Sunset” article in the Oct. issue of L.A. Magazine. What appeared was neither what I meant nor what I said. What I had hoped to express when I spoke to the “journalist” was admiration for the contribution many extraordinary people had made to making the Pt. Dume Marine Science Elementary School such an extraordinary place. I thought I had made that clear.
Instead, comments were twisted and manufactured to make it appear that I had some disdain for these various people’s admirable efforts. That is not the case. As the father of one son in that school now, and two more on the way, I also want to express my gratitude for those efforts and reiterate my apology if my efforts to compliment people turned out differently. Again, please accept my apology and thanks for everyone’s efforts.
