In time for the 2017 Malibu Rotary Club Singing Competition, the club is congratulating winners of last year’s event and raising awareness for this year’s.
Students from vocal classes at Malibu High and Middle schools competed for prize money at the Rotary Club’s annual singing competition in 2016.
Contestant Maggie Renee Valdman took home the 2016 competition’s grand prize, and represented the Malibu Rotary Club in the Rotary District Pageant of the Arts Competition where she placed second. Maggie now attends The Juilliard School of Music, and is pursuing a career in music.
The 2017 competition will take place Jan. 18 at 7 p.m. in Pepperdine University’s Raitt Recital Hall.
