Oppose dangerous access ideas

The Coastal Commission will consider the competing Malibu and Santa Monica Mountains Conservancy applications to modify and, in the SMMC’s case, override the Local Coastal Program. It is important that this hearing on June 10 at the Marina Del Rey Hotel be well attended by the residents of Malibu who are concerned by the SMMC’s effort to override our local government.

Our small town of 13,000 has millions of visitors a year and an excellent public access record in welcoming visitors. We support intelligent public access ideas and we oppose dangerous or inappropriate ones.

The city has chartered a bus for residents to take to the meeting for those who need a ride. Contact the City for information on this bus. Please review our website www.safecanyons.com for information on this issue and look at our video on YouTube (search “Ramirez Canyon Concerns” on www.youtube.com) for information on this topic. The wildfire safety aspect of this affects all of us in our wonderful small town.
