Fifty-year resident Richard Ryan died Feb. 13 in his Malibu home. He was 87 years old.
A graduate of the University of Idaho and USC Law School, he joined the Coldwell Company as legal counsel before becoming its vice president and being elected to its board of directors. He was later promoted to the position of executive vice president in charge of national mortgage banking loan operations.
Ryan was active in real estate and mortgage investment fields on both state and national levels. He was a member and president of the California Mortgage Bankers Association and served as co-chairman of its legislative committee.
Ryan is survived by his wife Ann and son Donnie.
