Award winning Los Angeles chef Suzanne Tracht last month taught cooking classes at Malibu’s Camp Harmony, which provides a camping experience for Los Angeles area homeless children. Tracht taught five classes of students how to make Caesar salad. The class was interactive, with some of the children learning how to make croutons, others making the dressing or tearing the lettuce and others grating the cheese. Then everyone got to taste the rewards.
The children were enthusiastic, and many professed an interest in becoming a professional chef.
Tracht is a childhood friend of Camp Harmony director Robin Segal. For more information on the camp, go to www.unitedinharmony.org.
