The No. 2 Pepperdine women’s sand volleyball team swept its first tournament of the season — Pepperdine Kick-Off — on March 5 and 6 at Zuma Beach.
The Waves began the weekend by dominating Long Beach State, 5-0, and then upsetting No. 1 University of Southern California, 3-2, on the first day of competition. They completed the sweep on the second day by defeating University of Hawaii, 4-1, and UCLA, 5-0.
This weekend, the Waves will travel to Mount Pleasant, S.C. to compete in the College of Charleston Tournament, before returning to Malibu for the Zuma Classic on April 2-3.
