The Malibu High School girls’ volleyball team honored its seniors last week on Tuesday at their final home game of the season against the Carpinteria Warriors.
The freshman-sophomore team played first and fought hard to send the match into the third set, but ultimately lost. The junior-varsity team avenged the loss, winning their match in two sets with decisive victories.
Before the varsity game, the Sharks honored their six seniors-Danika Dallas, Rose Massett, Paige Holbrook, Rachel Ulansey, Kelcie Meyer and Cheyenne Cantor-as they played their final game at Malibu High School. The seniors each received flowers that they presented to their parents and, as a tribute to his players, Malibu head coach Carlos Gray sang the national anthem.
Unfortunately, the Sharks were unable to fend off the Warriors, losing in three straight sets, 21-25, 24-26, and 15-25. Then, the Sharks concluded their season with a loss to Bishop Diego on the road last Thursday.
