High surf advisory issued

There will be high surf, four to six feet higher than normal, and strong rip currents throughout the beaches of Los Angeles and Santa Barbara counties, the National Weather Service reports. The highest waves are expected between Santa Monica and Palos Verdes in Los Angeles County. The advisory remains in effect until 10 p.m. Thursday.

An additional storm bringing rain and wind is expected to hit the region Thursday night and last through Saturday.
