
The Malibu Optimist Club conducted its annual essay contest awards ceremony last week. This year’s topic was “Today’s choices shape my future.”
Optimist Essay Chairman, Michael Zweig, presented the finalists to the club.
Ashley Ellis was awarded the first place gold medallion and a $300 U.S. Savings Bond.
Lauren Haag was awarded the second place silver medallion and a $200 U.S. Savings Bond.
Holly Bieler was awarded the third place bronze medallion and a $100 U.S. Savings Bond. Chelsea Cohen and Sarah Zweig received honorable mentions. All the finalists are students at Malibu High School.
