A body found Wednesday morning near Malibu Canyon Road was identified Thursday as 63-year-old Robin Thom of Calabasas by the Los Angeles County Coroner?s Office.
Thom’s vehicle was parked at a remote turnoff south of the tunnel on Malibu Canyon Road, and his body was found approximately 50 feet down a steep embankment. It appears that he had jumped to his death, officials said.
His family reported that he had been acting strangely during the last three months, said Lt. Fred Corral of the Coroner’s Office.
Corral said no suicide note was found. The family of Thom said that there is no conclusive evidence about his death.
The body is scheduled for examination Friday.
