Sunny skies are in store for the first official weekend of summer in Malibu, according to the National Weather Service (NWS.)

Dense morning fog will gradually clear by the early afternoon and high temperatures are predicted to reach 70 degrees on Saturday, June 20.

Similar weather patterns are in the forecast for the first day of summer on Sunday, June 21.

Low temperatures are estimated around 58 degrees throughout the weekend.

Friday, June 19

Support the Malibu Boys and Girls Club at the grand opening of Jamie Malibu Boutique at 4 p.m. 

Join Chabad of Malibu at 6:15 p.m. for Shabbat dinner, with special guest speaker Jerry Weintraub.

Enjoy a night of blues and soul with band Stoned Age at Ollie’s Duck & Dive at 9:30 p.m. 

Saturday, June 20

Dispose of hazardous waste, used motor oil, electronics and batteries, at Malibu City Hall, beginning at 10 a.m. through 2 p.m. 

Bank of Books will host Authors Nikki and Ethan White for a reading of “Prima the Ballerina In Her Backyard” during story time at 10:30 a.m. followed by a signing of author Laura Nicole Diamond’s new book “Shelter Us” at 2 p.m.

Stars of stage and screen Edward Asner and Mark Rydell return to the Malibu Playhouse for a performance of “Oxymorons,” at 7 p.m. 

Malibu Friends of Music perform “An American Celebration”with works of Mozart, William Grant Still and more at the Montgomery Arts House for Music and Architecture at 7 p.m. (also June 21.)

Celebrate the season during an evening of fun at the Malibu Community Alliance’s 3rd Annual Summer Soulstice at 7 p.m.

Sunday, June 21

Join motoring enthusiasts from around the world for a morning of exotic cars and coffee at Malibu Bluffs Park at 7 a.m.
