Former Malibu resident Gilbert H. Gardner died on April 21. He was 69.
Gardner was born on July 14, 1938 in Pittsburgh. He attended King Storm School in New York, UCLA and Pacific University in Forest Grove, Ore. Gardner lived in Malibu and New York City before moving to the Portland area.
Gardner was an actor/writer and performed in national television and stage productions during his mother’s marriage to film producer Otto Preminger. He worked as a casting/production coordinator for several of Preminger’s films. Gardner also toured in the stage production of “Wake Up Darling” with Michael Rennie and Faye Dunaway.
Gardner’s mother, Mary Gardner Preminger, was an international artist and he worked as her promotional assistant before moving to the Portland area.
Survivors include his uncle, Howell Gilbert and close friends Pat and Lana Miles.
