Great editorial on Sara Wan! Many thanks personally and on behalf of Malibu residents.
Has anyone sent letter or community petition to Senator Darryl Steinberg protesting reappointment of Sara Wan to the California Coastal Commission? Since becoming a commissioner some 16 years ago Ms. Wan has supported sewers and the density development sources underlying the pollution of Malibu’s recreational waters. We now have 2 sewers from Pepperdine and Las Virgenes and Sara has not opposed a third central one complete with ocean outfall threatening our city.
All sewering occurred since Sara was chosen for CCC. Malibu does not need special favors from Sara but is offended and undermined by the abuse to and her punishment of this community and our recreational waters resulting from her favoring sources of sewage. Sara was around when the community needed to defend itself from the Los Angeles County’s drive to sewer Malibu. (Remember the Wans came here from Westminster, Orange Co., a year or so before Malibu gained city status). Environmentalist Sara? Excuse me!
