Numerous Malibu residents performed in the Jr. Philharmonic Orchestra’s 72nd Anniversary Concert Spectacular at Walt Disney Concert Hall on June 3, which honored the orchestra’s 95 year-old founder-conductor and longtime Malibu resident, Dr. Ernst Katz.
Resident Gary S. Greene conducted the orchestra in works by Schubert, Paganini and Mendelssohn as well as a collection of Broadway tunes, featuring live performances by Dick Van Dyke, Carol Lawrence, Pat Boone, June Lockhart and Jordan Bennett.
