The Yacht Cheers, owned by Malibu residents Don and Chris Briscoe, earned a first-place win at Cherry Cove Yacht Club’s annual Labor Day dingy parade in Catalina. The theme of the parade was favorite movies, prompting the group of family and friends to take on the parade in “Endless Summer” style. The group was made up of a number of locals, including Darren Murray and Brian Stone, who grew up in Malibu and attended Webster Elementary and Malibu Park Junior High, as well as Pepperdine law school alum Stefanie Sitzer and Brittany Sitzer, who will graduate from the university’s school of law in 2014.
