Longtime Malibu resident Martha Fling served as a co-chair of the eighth annual Moving Families Forward Gala, which benefitted ongoing programs of the Ackerman Institute for the Family. More than 300 people attended the gala, which was hosted by Tamsen Fadal and honored award-winning writer and speaker Andrew Solomon and Ackerman Board Member Linda Dishy.
The gala took place at The Waldorf Astoria Hotel in New York City on Oct. 20. The Ackerman Institute for the Family was established in 1960 to develop models of family therapy, professional training and community programs for families facing major life challenges.
