The Woolsey Fire continues to be a hazard. Our kids cannot go back to Malibu High/Middle School on Dec. 10 … Our schools’ so-called testing for toxicity does not solve a larger problem. The surrounding burnt area, homes, fields, etc., are noxious to our kids, a serious health concern. As workers tear down structures, over turn soil, etc., many cancerous chemicals, materials that include PCBs, will be airborne, creating not only poisonous air quality, but also a grave situation as they land on the Malibu campuses; also, a severe and dangerous traffic problem will last years as surrounding structures are rebuilt. Our kids cannot go back. A safe, pop-up campus can be set up in just a few weeks and our 100-million dollar bond can be put to use by building a new school while the surrounding area is revived at the same time. We need to protect our kids, teachers and workers.
