We are fourth grade students at Point Dume Elementary School. It would be sad to see all our hard work learning to play an instrument go to waste. Instrumental music is just as important as all of the other subjects in school. It would be really sad to see the kids that want to play an instrument next year not have the same chance we had this year. Every child in the 4th and 5th grades has the chance to play an instrument. Next year, none of us will have the chance if we lose instrumental music.
We have been waiting since 1st grade to play an instrument. Playing the flute makes us feel special. We love it so much that we have a group after school so that we can practice and learn to play better. We have always wanted to be a part of instrumental music and if you take it away you would take a piece of our hearts away. So please, don’t take music out of our schools. We need all of our parents to vote for Measure S on June 3 so that we can keep our instrumental music program.
