Cathy Rogers is ready to bring delicious recipes and heartfelt anecdotes to the community with her latest cookbook, “Malibu’s Cooking Again 2.”
The forthcoming book is somewhat of a successor to “Malibu’s Cooking Again,” a collection of recipes and stories from local restaurants and community members following the 1993 Old Topanga Fire.
Rogers, in a phone call with The Malibu Times, confirmed “everything is kind of together.”
“It’s just a matter of getting some of these photos” in before the whole endeavor heads off to Blurb, a self-publishing platform.
Rogers said she consulted a few different publishers before going with Blurb, a result of her desire to maintain her original vision.
The cookbook features approximately 77-78 recipes. Proceeds from the book will go in part to the Boys & Girls Club of Malibu and in part to a fund she recently established for victims of the Woolsey Fire.
“It’s funny,” Rogers mused, “everything works out the right way when your heart is in it.”
