Pepperdine hires director of advancement and public affairs for its libraries

Pepperdine University appointed Ken LaZebnik as its new director of advancement and public affairs for the school’s library system. LaZebnik, a screenwriter and playwright, co-authored “Prairie Home Companion” and wrote for the television series “Touched by an Angel.” He has also worked closely with the Library Foundation of Los Angeles, writing grant proposals in support of the popular ALOUD speaker series at the downtown Los Angeles Library. He currently teaches screenwriting for the University of Southern California’s Peter Stark Producing Program. LaZebnik’s plans include launching a Pepperdine Library speaker series, featuring writers and thinkers addressing issues that resonate with the Pepperdine mission, as well as founding a Library Board of Advisors to secure a financial base for the library as it enters a period of growth.
