I knew there would be another reason why I wasn’t happy to have Santa Monica College put down it’s tentacles in Malibu. Besides more traffic on the highway and, of course, parking issues, the College District Board of Trustees voted unanimously to boycott Arizona. The Santa Monica School District Board of Education will also consider a boycott and I was supposed to give a property tax raise to this “Ship of Fools.
My daughter and her family live in Arizona and when I asked her how things were going, she said, “Maybe now my children can get summer jobs!” But now there will be no jobs for anyone legal or illegal if the uninformed continue on their path of punishment and destruction on a state which is doing what the Federal Government isn’t doing and won’t do.
So thank you, Mayor Wagner, for your intelligent statement concerning Arizona. You are so right. There are other and bigger issues for Malibu to pursue.
