We attended the Malibu Methodist Christmas Cantata service and were happy to see Ms. Thomas’ column covering it. While most of the article was understandably devoted to Mr. Whitmore, we feel that another person of paramount importance in producing that service deserves high praise.
Joellen Friedkin, the choir director and pianist at Malibu Methodist, put together the very challenging musical program, rehearsed the choir and conducted the whole proceeding while accompanying on piano. Ms. Friedkin, who has also been heard accompanying the Malibu High School and Middle School choirs in their two recent concerts, is a superb musician and our community is very fortunate to have her.
